ON-ICE Referee Clinic

Purpose: To recruit, train, and properly prepare new and returning referees through on-ice instruction, ensuring confidence, consistency, and quality officiating within SWCYHA and surrounding areas.

Referee Levels

Required: L1

Highly Recommended: L2, L3, or L4


Scheduling Priority

Returning referees are strongly encouraged to attend the On-Ice Clinic and Black Coat Reffing. If a returning referee chooses not to participate, newly certified referees who complete the On-Ice Clinic and Black Coat Reffing will receive scheduling priority for officiating assignments until game availability allows for additional scheduling.

When: Tuesday, September 22

Time: 7:30pm - 9:00pm

Location: SWCRC, 2711 16th Street South, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494

Duration: 1.5 hours (on-ice)

Instructors: Certified referees/trainers provided by CWHOA.

Cost: FREE!

Please come prepared and arrive with full hockey officiating attire, including:

  • Officials Jersey
  • Black Pants
  • Helmet with Shield
  • Neck Guard
  • Skates
  • Whistle
