SWCYHA was established in February of 1974. Many years of practices and games took place on outdoor rinks under some harsh winter weather.
In 1992, we were fortunate to have donors and volunteers dedicated to the establishment of an indoor ice facility, The South Wood County Recreation Center, which is located at at 2711 16th Street South in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
We are a WAHA Division 1 Hockey Association that offers programs for children and youth ages 3 through High School. We have a WIAA team for high school boys with Lincoln High School and a Co-op Girls team with Steven’s Point.
